2021 Brady Vineyard Whole Cluster Pinot Noir
Planted in 2008 with Dijon 667; as of 2023 115 and 777 have been planted. The soils are a mix of volcanic.
Tasting notes
A wonderful fruit foward and balanced wine with pleasant acidity. Aromas of apples in the glass lead to warm apple tart and apricots lingering on the palate.
This wine would be best paired with dishes that have cream based sauces or a vegetable risotto. Or, look to compliment a decadent cheese platter or even a rich cheesecake!
Production notes
The grapes were havested on September 23rd by hand with a ph of 3.19 and brix at 21.0. The berries were lightly pressed and made in our desired style of a Cote-De-Beaune wine. Only two barrels were selected for this wine: one lightly toasted new French oak from Alliers, the other selection was a neutral barrel. Both barrels in the 2020 vintage were from Fennwood vineyard. Only 49 cases produced.
Other notes
The Vintage:
2020 was a warm and dry vintage with some slight rain in mid-September just prior to harvest. The clusters had big and small berries (hens and chicks!) which lead to richer and more intense flavor. The growing season was extended by reduced sun, and these grapes were harvested right at the close of September.
