2021 Yamhill-Carlton Chardonnay
From the famed Fennwood Vineyard, this chardonnay has a beautiful nose of honeysuckle and rose floral notes, a silky texture on the palate that leads to an abundance of citrus and ripe nectarine that lingers through the long finish.
Tasting notes
A beautiful nose of honeysuckle and rose floral. Notes of brie and a silky texture on the palate, lead to an abundance of citrus and ripe nectarine on a long finish!
This wine would be a perfect compliment to fresh wild Salmon. Or pair with rockfish and beurre blanc sauce.
Production notes
Gentle whole cluster press cycle to maintain delecate fruit notes. Secondary fermentation takes place in new to neutral french oak barrels; most barrels do not complete a full malolactic conversion, rather a partial fermentation to soften the acidity making the wine more balanced.

The Vintage:
2020 was a warm and dry vintage with some slight rain in mid-September just prior to harvest. The clusters had big and small berries (hens and chicks!) which lead to richer and more intense flavor. The growing season was extended by reduced sun, and these grapes were harvested right at the close of September.
